Dear fellow coyote defenders,

Victory for the coyotes of Arcadia!! Tonight at the study session of the
Arcadia city council meeting, the city council unanimously voted to
"suspend" the trapping program!! The city council generally believes they
made the right decision to trap coyotes in the first place, and that the
trapping has accomplished what they wanted to accomplish, and they now
feel like it is time to stop. However, the city council agrees that
educating residents on coexisting with wild animals is the answer. During
the meeting tonight 20 Arcadia residents made public comments in favor of
stopping the trapping. All 20 made outstanding statements. Some of which
we couldn't help but applaud them in the middle of their statements. After
all the city council members voted to "suspend" trapping program, the
audience full of coyote defenders jumped up and roared in applause.

Thank you all for your support!! WE did it! So many amazing people made
this possible for the coyotes. From the awesome co-organizers, to the
wonderful volunteers collecting signatures, to the brave Arcadia residents
that made outstanding speeches tonight. We are all so ecstatic about the
victory for the coyotes! But we will be closely monitoring the situation.
If Arcadia ever considers trapping again, they better believe we will be
right back into action in leading the opposition. Also, we will soon be
discussing our next steps in working with Arcadia on possible ongoing
educational programs on coexisting with wild animals and assisting other
activists with similar campaigns in other cities. Please stay tuned for
